This one's gonna be a doozy...
His appearance is a mix of an owl, huggy wuggy and hollow knight/undertale (I'll explain why)
He has no mouth.
They have a longer than average neck.
If you had a look into his skeleton you would notice that he doesn't have bones. Therefore his movements have no limits and every part of his body can bend a full 360° degrees.
Although he is a shapeshifter his basic form is a tall, almost scarily skinny body covered in thick and fluffy white iridescent fur. For reference, his fur almost reflects the same amound of lights a white opal would.
(Optional) His arms get bigger towards the end of them.
At the end of every limb he has either 3, 4 or 5 long black claws which come from the owl aspect of his design.
Also it is to be noted that he doesn't necessarily look like an owl in his basic form but he can be drawn with either angel wings or normal wings that are connected to the hands.
He has a semi-long just as fluffy tail which is approx. half of his body size covered in fur. It's similar to a snow leopards tail.
He has 2 black goat/sheep themed ears on the side of his head/mask.
His mask is inspired by Hollow Knight/Vlurr143/old character designs.
He has 2 functioning very vibrant eyes, who look similar to human eyes. Although in many illustrations showing his chibi gremlin form (I'll get to that later) he doesn't appear to have them, simply because those eyes are meant for darker illustrations.
They're still canon to his design, but there's not alot of artwork of it.
The tips of his mask appears to be blue on alot of my artwork but that's simply the shine of his flame, so he doesn't have it when he's not talking or expressing an extreme emotion.
His flame is another big part of his character design.
Alot of people get confused about what it actually is, so let me explain it.
His 'flame' is the equivalent of his mouth and his brainwaves. Since he has no mouth his way of communicating is with telepathy. Normally it's able to be heard by everyone and not just one person, but if he tries hard enough he could create a connection with a singular person's brain to speak to them alone. When he doesn't 'talk' however the flame dissapears. Except for when he's showing strong emotions like happiness, sadness or anger (which is why im mentioning brainwaves).
The flame isn't an actual flame, it's a collection of dream matter, wether nightmare fuel or dreamy thoughts. That's why it also doesn't spread any heat or goes out from water or lack of oxygen. It does however give a small amount of light to his surroundings. Also the way it should normally be drawn is flowy, with small bits and bobs flowing around. (take the dream pokemon musharna for example)
Also the colour palette normally contains pastel colours like light green, light pink, light blue, light yellow and occasionally light purple.
Extra Information: He consumes food by putting it in his 'flame' since it absorbs small matter like food or water. Don't try to stick your hand or anything else like lego into it, if you don't want to suffer from a loss of limb. (Also this is just an assumption but I'm assuming while i was making him i was unconsciously thinking of Grillby from Undertale as an inspiration)
ALSO IMPORTANT: He's still a shapeshifter so he can have a mouth on certain images if i deem it necessary. (If i do it will be similar to the mouth from the snatcher from a hat in time)
ALSO ALSO IMPORTANT: Please don't draw him with a mouth unless i specifically said you can.
Fun Fact: When he gets wet his fur loses its iridescense and it's just plain white. And he also doesn't like water.
His Gremlin Form - He has 2 main forms: normal and feral gremlin.
His feral gremlin form removes all those previously mentioned special traits and turns him into a small mischievious, up to no good, ball of fur. He could be mistaken with an imp. His limbs get shorter, his tail is a puffy, spiky ball and his claws become small and less intimedating. He acts more cat-like, afraid of water and always scheming the next chaos he can cause. He also walks on all fours, but he can sit up on 2 legs.
His anatomy is also inspired by Chuu-Totoro from the movie Totoro and the small white mouse from the movie spirited away. As mentioned before, he looses his scary eyes and instead is drawn with standard black holes from the mask.
He normally wears no clothes but if he does (this is excluding meme-y outfits) it would be a bartender/barista outfit that looks high-class and fancy. (for example a tuxedo and a white button-up shirt below)
